Chie Mihara was born in 1968 to Japanese parents in the vibrant, bohemian city of Porto Alegre, Brazil. At 18, she moved to Japan to study fashion design in Fukuoka, later joining the avant-garde designer Junko Koshino, whom she still calls her sensei. There she learned that creativity is not about chasing distant worlds but about expressing personal identity.

Chie later moved to New York, studying at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she specialized in accessories. She then worked in an orthopedic shoe store, learning to truly understand and respect the human foot — a lesson that still defines her approach today: shoes must be as comfortable as they are beautiful.

After a period working for Charles Jourdan in Paris, she settled in Spain and, in 2001, founded her own label. All her shoes are made in Elda (Alicante), the heart of Spain’s shoemaking tradition. Her collections combine femininity, humor, and comfort, with a distinctive retro touch that makes them instantly recognizable.

At LUUKS, we love Chie Mihara’s unique balance of artistry, comfort, and playful elegance. Her shoes celebrate individuality — joyful, feminine, and made to be worn every day.
